HTANI are delighted to collaborate with HTAI to host a talk by renowned history education specialist, Prof. Arthur Chapman. The focus will be on the conceptual tools that are needed to think about what story in history is, how it can contribute to historical understanding and why it might be hard for students to grasp its significance in the context of historical learning The talk will examine practical strategies that teachers might use to further the potential for using story in the classroom.
Arthur Chapman is Professor of History Education, University College London and co-editor of the journal, Teaching History. He is widely regarded as the leading figure in history education in the UK at present and a frequent contributor to events at a European level.
